Graduate Research Assistant Positions:
There are several open research assistant positions in the group. Graduate students with interests in physical chemistry, materials chemistry, biophysical chemistry, bioinorganic/inorganic chemistry, chemical biology, and analytical chemistry are strongly encouraged to contact Prof. Peng Chen for details.
Postdoc position openings:
Postdoctoral positions are available now and then, and we continually look for talented and driven researchers to join our scientific endeavors. Open positions generally fall into the two following areas, while new research projects can sprout out too:
1) Single-molecule bioinorganic chemistry. This area focuses on studying the macromolecular dynamics involved in metal transport and metal regulation. For a general idea, see publications:
J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2007, 129, 12461-12467. J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2008, 130, 2446-2447. Biophys. J. 2009, 97, 844-852. Candidates must have strong backgrounds in physical, biophysical, or biological sciences, and must be motivated to explore new and interdisciplinary research directions.2) Single-molecule nanocatalysis. This area focuses on developing innovative single-molecule fluorescence methods to study the catalytic and electrocatalytic properties of nanoscale materials. For a general idea, see publications:
Nat. Mater. 2008, 7, 992-996. Nano Letters, 2009, 9, 3968–3973. J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2010, 132, 138-146. Candidates must have strong backgrounds in physical sciences, including spectroscopy/microscopy, nanoscience, and electrochemistry, and must be motivated to explore new and interdisciplinary research directions. Please send a cover letter including a statement of purpose and expected start date, your CV with publication list, reprints of three selected publications, copies of undergraduate and graduate transcripts, and three reference letters to Peng Chen <
