COURSE INFORMATION
- Chem 791 will provide an in-depth treatment of the fundamentals of
molecular rotation-vibrational-electronic spectroscopy, as well as a
brief introduction to scattering theory.
- A list of topics to be covered is given in the course syllabus.
- Course work will consist of a number of assignments (problem sets) plus a term paper
on a topic in molecular spectroscopy.
- Some relevant texts and papers are listed in the bibliography
(updated 2/20/08).
- Prerequisites: Chem 793 (Quantum Mechanics I) or equivalent. Note that Chem 794 is not
a prerequisite for this course.
