Chem 1057 (formerly
057) Course Information |
Fall 2009, Jane Walcott
Syllabus: Chem 1057 is a
course offered by the Learning Strategies Center (LSC) and the Department of
Chemistry and Chemical Biology to help students improve their performance in Chem 3570. It is designed to
provide an opportunity for supplemental instruction and practice on material
covered in Chem 3570.
Emphasis is placed on the understanding of important concepts and principles in
organic chemistry, and the development of study skills and problem-solving
strategies. Chem 1057 is
not designed to provide a comprehensive review of all of the material covered
in Chem 3570. Rather, the
focus will be on the most important and/or most confusing concepts covered in Chem 3570. We will work on
developing strategies to help you learn the course content more efficiently, so
you can retain it and recall it when needed. We will also work on developing
strategies for solving commonly encountered problems in organic chemistry.
